About
Steve Prescott grew up in north east Ohio catching fish, toads, and snakes, logging inordinate amounts of time playing with LEGO, and most of all, drawing. The action and scifi movies of the 80’s along with a heavy dose of Dark Horse comics galvanized the geeky illustrator within which led him to the Columbus College of Art & Design.
Shortly before graduating with a BFA, Steve got a job illustrating for White Wolf Games and has been working as a self-employed artist (mostly in the gaming industry) ever since. In that time, he has had work published in hundreds of books, painted book covers and packaging art, worked on nearly 300 Magic:the Gathering (MTG) cards, extensive conceptual and character designs for numerous high profile products and games, has been lead artist on an app game, illustrated a bump on Animal Planet, did creature design for a movie, appeared in the documentary “Eye of the Beholder: The Art of Dungeons & Dragons”, and is an instructor at the annual Fantasy Art Workshop Illustration Intensive.
When not applying himself to being a self-employed creative, you can find Steve hiking, kayaking, nature-observing, and yet still playing with LEGO. He lives in central Ohio with two too many cats (he has two).
